Fall leaves changing to ice and snow and fewer hours of sunlight can lead to gloomy winter days, something our team members just couldn’t let happen in our communities.
Because community is one of our guiding seven Cooperative Principles, Verve loves lifting community members’ spirits through unique (and sometimes surprising) efforts. Performing Random Acts of Verve is just one way our team members help create a strong community built on kindness.
Did someone say free groceries?
The week before Thanksgiving, team members from our Bell Street branch surprised shoppers at the Pick ‘n Save on Commercial Street in Neenah with gift cards to use toward their grocery purchases. Pick ‘n Save employees were so excited they said they were going to feature our Random Acts of Verve on their intranet!
Making days—and clothes—brighter, one roll of quarters at a time.
Team members from our Neenah branches stopped by UR Washinstuff in Neenah and gave rolls of quarters to people doing their laundry. Everyone was so happy and surprised, and one person was a Verve member who said they love that we give back to the community through small acts of kindness.
Serving up meals with a side of kindness.
December was filled with meal-time surprises, like when our Talent Management team visited Gardina’s Wine Bar and Cafe to give cash to lucky diners to pay for their meal, leave as a tip or buy dessert. And team members from our Witzel Avenue branch surprised diners at Ratch & Deb’s Pizza by paying for their meals. To top it all off, our Oneida Street branch surprised patrons at Third Street Diner and Manderfield’s Home Bakery in Menasha by paying for their breakfast and donuts.
Surprising community members by filling their bellies fills our hearts with joy.
Strike! Bowlers score free games in Fond du Lac.
Team members from our Fond du Lac branches surprised bowlers at Ledgeview Lanes by paying for their games and shoes. Talk about a fun night out for these community members!
Ringing in the new year with free food.
Our Sherwood branch surprised shoppers at Dick’s Family Foods by giving gift cards to random shoppers. Supporting a local business and giving back to the community—we couldn’t think of a better way to ring in the new year.
