Verve, a Credit Union, made the National Association for Business Resources’ (NABR) 2021 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® (Chicago) list. The list recognizes companies who are improving business processes, creating richer lives and building stronger communities.
Companies are nominated for the nationwide list, which is awarded by region, and are selected based on a lengthy self-assessment completed by the nominees and anonymous surveys sent to their team members. Verve was evaluated on a variety of categories, including: compensation, benefits/employee solutions, employee enrichment, engagement/retention, employee education/development, recruitment, selection/orientation, employee achievement/recognition, communication/shared vision, diversity/inclusion, work-life balance, community initiatives, and strategic company performance.
“At Verve, it’s important to us that care and concern for team members is a part of our strategy at the highest levels. It’s how we go to market, it’s the investments we make in technology, it’s training, it’s HR, it’s communications, it’s every nook and cranny of Verve,” said Karrie Drobnick, Chief Marketing + Strategy Officer. “We work hard to build that rich culture, whether it’s in a long-standing branch or a recently-acquired location. Our team members showed us they believe in what we are doing, which fuels us to continuously improve our culture.”
Verve’s culture of servant leadership is built on a comprehensive approach to team member development, going beyond simply focusing on job duties.
“Receiving this recognition following our recent acquisition of South Central Bank in Chicago gives this acknowledgement special meaning,” said Kevin J. Ralofsky, president and CEO of Verve. “We are very proud to know that our team members in Chicago feel the great level of support that we strive to deliver to each and every team member. We know that a highly-engaged team is inspired to do great things—a difference our members feel through our energetic service—and we’re so happy to see our team members agree.”
Unique aspects of Verve’s work environment include servant leadership training, an award-winning wellness program, casual attire days to raise money for charity and opportunities to participate in acts of kindness in the community known as Random Acts of Verve.
Verve will be honored at Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For virtual award celebration on Thursday, July 22, 2021.
