The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce has named Verve, a Credit Union’s Jolene Heuchert, Small Business Banker, the 2020 Ambassador of the Year. The award is given to a Chamber Ambassador who has demonstrated outstanding dedication, service and leadership to advance the mission of the Oshkosh Chamber.

“Through her dedication to the community, efforts to provide support to businesses and a host of financial literacy presentations, Jolene has played a key role in truly making Oshkosh a better place to live and work,” Kevin J. Ralofsky, president and CEO at Verve, said. “It’s no surprise that she continues her service and support to other important organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, and as her team, we are elated to see her recognized for her hard work.”

The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce presented Heuchert the Ambassador of the Year award at its virtual annual meeting on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021. The meeting would normally have been held in December 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I’m so glad to work for an organization that goes beyond the basic products and services and invests in roles like mine where I get focus on the success of my local community,” Heuchert said. “I love the way I serve in my day job, and in my volunteering with the Chamber. I truly consider myself blessed to be in a role that allows me to use my strengths to impact others in a positive way. Receiving this award, especially after such a tough year for small businesses, just gives me even more momentum to do what I can to help our local businesses be successful.”

Verve emphasizes servant leadership in its workplace culture and was named one of Credit Union Journal’s Best Credit Unions to Work For four years in a row. Some unique aspects of the Verve work environment include one-on-one coaching for team members, a robust recognition program based on member experience, a well-being program that facilitates morning team stretching sessions (even virtually!) and more, casual dress days that raise money for charity, and the opportunity to participate in random acts of kindness known as Random Acts of Verve.
