Looking back at 2017 Random Acts of Verve

In the spirit of “people helping people” and “paying it forward,” the Random Acts of Verve crews stop by local businesses to share our love for the community.

We had a blast surprising people—here’s a look back at a few of our favorite Random Acts of Verve from 2017.

Caffeinating our communities with coffee and kindness.

Our team members visited four area gas stations and coffee shops to surprise a few customers by paying for their coffee, snacks and a few breakfast orders, too. We even had someone ask how to apply for a job at Verve!

Delighting unsuspecting guests with dinner and dessert.

We treated families at six different restaurants—and a food truck—to free burgers, tacos, ice cream and a variety of other tasty treats by paying for their meals. We even received a sweet surprise of our own—one family we bought lunch for returned the favor and gave us dilly bars!

Score! Sixty lucky shoppers got free groceries on us.

We surprised shoppers at three local grocery stores by handing out gift cards—talk about full hearts (and bellies!).

Fueling 2017 with gas gift cards.

We revved up people’s spirits by giving them fuel gift cards as they were filling up their vehicles at two area gas stations.

This summer, our team members surprised youth baseball game and music lovers by paying for their concession stand purchases.

Stocking our schools—and humane societies—with supplies.

We surprised local teachers—and our furry friends—by donating school supplies and pet supplies to two area schools and two humane associations.

Sharing the love with a sweet ice cream treat topped with a little love.
We made dessert extra special at three area ice cream shops by paying for sundaes, ice cream cones and milkshakes for customers.

Our team members surprised golfers by paying for their round of golf and favorite ice cream treat. We scored a hole in one by paying for another 21 rounds of golf for the next unsuspecting customers.

A farmers market favorite.
This summer, our team members stopped by one of the La Crosse-area farmers markets to surprise people and pay for their farmers market finds.

The Random Acts of Verve don’t stop there. Our teams also surprised people with flowers on Valentine’s Day, $2 bills at the Two Rivers Business Association Golf Outing, and more.

Because community is one of our guiding seven Cooperative Principles, Verve loves lifting community members’ spirits through unique (and sometimes surprising) efforts. Performing Random Acts of Verve is just one way our team members help create a strong community built on kindness.
