How to Check if your Information was Impacted by the Equifax Breach

As you may have heard, Equifax, one of the three credit bureaus, suffered a cybersecurity attack in July impacting an estimated 143 million U.S. consumers. The hackers accessed names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses, and in some cases, driver’s license numbers, credit card numbers and dispute documents with personal identifying information.

We recommend using the Equifax website www.equifaxsecurity2017.com to see if your information has been impacted. If your name is on the list, Equifax is offering a one-year, complimentary subscription for U.S. consumers to TrustedID, an identity theft protection service. We encourage members to check their credit once a year through annualcreditreport.com to monitor any unauthorized activity.
