Lessen the worry about your teen’s spending with customizable settings that limit the risk of the account going negative and help you keep tabs on expenses with a debit card only checking. Plus, if your teen is working a first job, he or she can deposit checks or view balances using our mobile app. Not that they need more time with their phone. Open a Verve savings account for your teen and we’ll match the first $5.*

To limit the risk of the account going negative, we can opt the account out of Courtesy Pay and Overdraft Protection Plus, which will reject debit card transactions if the amount is more than the available limit in the account. Depending on how some merchants send payment authorizations, there is a chance the amount will be approved despite not having enough in the account. Verve recommends not allowing checks or automatic payments on this account as these items will increase the risk of the account going negative. Verve cannot guarantee the account will never go negative, but we can help limit the risk.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

*Offer applies to new members age 17 and under. Youth need a parent or guardian joint on the account. Membership qualification and eligibility apply. Federally insured by NCUA.
