what you'll need

Sole Proprietor

  • Valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license)
  • Your Social Security Number (no need to bring your cards)
  • If you have an Employer Identification Number/Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), bring documentation
  • Opening deposit (minimum $5 in savings plus the cost of checks if you choose to order them)

Limited Liability Company

  • Valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license)
  • Your Social Security Number (no need to bring your cards)
  • If you have an Employer Identification Number/Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), bring documentation
  • Business Operating Agreement/Partnership Agreement (if applicable)
  • Business Articles of Organization
  • Opening deposit (minimum $5 in savings plus the cost of checks if you choose to order them)

Corporation

  • Valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license)
  • Verification of tax ID number
  • Organization’s Bylaws
  • Meeting minutes or similar verification of Share Holders/Officers of the Corporation/Board of Directors
  • Business Articles of Incorporation
  • Opening deposit (minimum $5 in savings plus the cost of checks if you choose to order them)

Nonprofit

  • Valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license)
  • Bylaws/Code of Regulations
  • Meeting minutes or similar verification to show the officers of the organization/Board of Directors
  • Tax Exempt certificate
  • Opening deposit (minimum $5 in savings plus the cost of checks if you choose to order them)
  • Articles of Incorporation (if applicable)
  • Verification of Tax ID number

Business Account (Unincorporated, social clubs, civic organizations, etc.)

  • Valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license) for all signers
  • Bylaws/Code of Regulations (if applicable)
  • Meeting minutes or similar verification to show the officers of the organization/Board of Directors
  • Verification of tax ID number
  • Opening deposit (minimum $5 in savings plus the cost of checks if you choose to order them)
