April is National Credit Union Youth Month, and we’re getting a jump start with our piggy bank-building workshop designed to help boost healthy spending and saving habits for our youth—with a good dose of arts and crafts thrown in there, too.
Join us from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the Children’s Museum of La Crosse for our free Smart Savers—Build Your Own Piggy Bank workshop. The workshop is designed to introduce your little ones (ages 5 to 11) to healthy spending and saving. Plus, your kids will walk away with their own, one-of-a-kind piggy bank that they’ll be eager to fill.
Bring in a container (a jar, coffee can, soda bottle, sturdy box, etc.) and your creativity, and we’ll supply the decorations (and fun). Need a little inspiration? Check out our piggy banks board on Pinterest.
The workshop is free with museum admission, but space is limited to the first 20 kiddos. RSVP here.
It’s Verve’s goal—in line with our guiding seven Cooperative Principles—to provide education, training and information to help create a thriving financial future for our community. What better way to teach kids about spending, saving and sharing than a glue sticks and glitter, piggy-bank-decorating good time!
We’ll add a little bacon to your Verve piggy bank.
If new savers open a Kids’ Account, we’ll match their first $5 deposit. Just think of Verve as a really big piggy bank—except we’ll drop in some cash, too! Offer applies to new members age 17 and under. All youth accounts need a parent or guardian to join. Membership qualification and eligibility requirements apply.
