SCAM TEXTS:

Scam texts posing as Verve reporting debit card charges are targeting members.

CALLER ID SPOOFS:

Additionally, scammers are spoofing (mimicking) Verve’s phone number in caller ID scams. In other words, members are receiving phone calls from a number that shows up on caller ID as Verve. When members answer the call, the scammer is telling members that they will receive a text with a link, and then directing members to click the link to log into their account. Please know that Verve would never text you a link and ask you to log into your account in this manner.

What scammers are trying to do:

In both these instances, the text link opens to a fake Verve webpage and directs you to input your login credentials, thereby giving scammers access to your username and password.

What you should do:

  1. Do not click the link.
    • If you clicked the link, contact us immediately. Call 800.448.9228 and select option 1 to speak with a team member or stop in at the nearest branch.

What we’re doing:

  • We have submitted a request to have the malicious content removed.
  • We are working to spread the word as quickly as possible through our social media and website. You can help us spread the word: Take a screenshot and let your friends know this text message is a scam.

Thank you for helping protect our financial cooperative and each other. We’re all in this together.
