Bring your family and friends to Copeland Park (1130 Copeland Park Drive, La Crosse) on Saturday, July 21 for the Big Blue Dragon Boat Festival hosted by Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare. Teams of 20 paddlers follow the beat of their drummer to paddle in synchrony on the Black River in hopes of crossing the finish line first in their 40-foot dragon boat. All proceeds from the event support breast cancer diagnosis and treatment and healthy lifestyle programming for area youth.
Look for our orange shirts and smiling faces.
We’ve rounded up TWO teams filled with our best paddlers and drummers to compete in the dragon boat races. When we’re not racing, we’ll be enjoying festival music and food and handing out Verve swag while we play games with festival-goers at our tent. If you’re not sold yet, admission is FREE!
Not only is the Big Blue Dragon Boat Festival a great way to get some exercise and work as a team, it’s also a fun way to come together as a community to support breast cancer diagnosis and treatment at the Center for Breast Care, and healthy lifestyle programming at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse. We know that when we invest in our communities, we make them a healthier and better place to live, work and worship—that’s why we’re proud to paddle in the dragon boat races.
