This is a great bank. I have been banking with them for 35 years, several checking accounts, savings, mortgage and other loans. Because it is small you can talk to the president if you need to. They will go out of their way to help. They have a service I really like and have not found at other banks, they text me and email me every time my credit card is used. More than once it alerted me to a fraudulent charge and because I got the info so fast I was able to stop it before it became a problem. Also if someone writes me a check and it bounces or if I have an overdraft they call or email so i don't find out 10 days later. UPDATE, I wrote this when this was South Central Bank. The things I wrote are no longer true since Verve bough them. There are not owned in Chicago and don't seem to care about it. Their office is like a ghost town and they don't return calls. The staff I dealt with were very inexperienced and could not solve simple problem. They got rid of their good people. I think it is unethical to say this review was written for Verve when it was about their predecessor, South Central Bank.
Was considering leaving Verve; so glad I didn't!Alexis and Angela were absolutely amazing in the aftermath of losing a lot of money to hackers in my phone and fraud, this past month (Aug 2023).It was a very scary, overwhelming thing to go through. They had so much compassion and patience through it all, as I needed to set up all new accounts & shut down old ones after more than two decades.Alexis was great at all the details & emailing me my old account information to figure out which payments didn't go through, etc. It was quite a mess but she was with me to go through all of it. Angela too, when I set up new online accounts, etc. in-person.It was a complicated, time-consuming thing to do all of that and Alexis and Angela were with me every step of the way, reassuring me and following up. Thank you.I also appreciate that Verve is partnering with Onalaska Police department to educate people about how to better protect themselves from fraud/identity theft like what happened to me. Alexis said she had done a seminar/education for that recently.There's definitely a need for it as these criminals are getting more and more sneaky at how they get people. I hope good comes out of this very bad thing that happened to me and is happening to so many others.I'm grateful that a supervisor I spoke with at Verve headquarters (Oshkosh, WI) listened to me for a very long time as I let out my intense feelings of grief, rage, disappointment, and helplessness over this happening & no one at verve (the tellers) saying anything to me or trying to strongly encourage me NOT to take out that huge amount of cash (and most of what I had in my account), even though later they said I looked very nervous (I was!).I am really grateful that this supervisor from Verve never interrupted me, didn't get defensive or judgmental, just listened with a lot of patience and compassion.And at the end, he took my suggestion that some kind of script be added to what tellers are trained to say to customers, especially when they notice they are taking out large amounts of cash from their accounts like I did.If someone had said something to me & explained the red flags that were happening to me, I think it could have broken through my brain being hijacked by the criminals who were in my pocket on my cell phone (for hours).I told NO ONE about this, not even my closest friends or family members (as the fake Apple support & Verve employees advised), so really it could have ONLY been someone standing in front of me (a teller, human-to-human, face-to-face) to help break through this kidnapping of my brain and emotions and having me in absolute terror.I noticed on my most recent social security mailing that there was a warning about identity theft and tips about NOT giving any cash, etc. The warnings were on the envelope the mailing came in AND inside on the actual paper letter. I taped the envelope on our cupboard & highlighted the warnings to remind myself and my two teenagers. I wonder if something like this could be added to statements we get from verve - online AND in the mail??? I think it would help.A BIG THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to Alexis and Angela who were the two main ones to help me through this. I appreciate everyone there at Verve (Chandler & Jean too) for being open & willing to making positive changes to help educate & protect more people from this horrible suffering I'm going through. It is worth it.On a lighter note, thank you Alexis & Jean for the starter from that cute plant that you got from Jean. 🙂 My teen son loves it and has it growing well with his other plants.

My first impression when I walked into the door of Verve when first inquiring about switching banks, was that it was a very laid back atmosphere. The tellers were so eager to help and they answered my questions quickly! They made the process so simple. Logan helped and explained how to use the app. They have a nice coffee station and dog bones when you go in! Very nice bank.
I been with verve credit union for a long time now i only wish that the us government would do something with the online loans people who want your information than they try to get in to your bank account see I try to take out a loan the only thing is I been out of the credit companys over 10 years ago so for me it hard to get back in to it . But for people who try the online loan company he look out you may be taking on more than you want to .

Everything I've done with Verve up to this point has been pretty good. Now I got a quick auto loan with them (this was all done via phone and email!) because the financial that had my loan is no longer servicing the loan, (which I got a text and email and voicemail at 3:58pm July 3rd. 2023) 😐 They sold it to a clearing house that has harassed me non-stop for 7 days... Verve to the rescue! Having only 6 months left on this loan, and contemplating continual harassment from American credit acceptance ... who ,my car loan had been sold to... And having been a member through Verve credit Union for about 6 months now.I did the Verve thing.Like I said everything I've done with them up to this point has been very decent, that being said occasionally it'd be nice to just pull up and talk to a teller, oh well you can't have everything. ( Hey but wait you say. yes, tellers available via video😐 no thanks I prefer person...) But all the branches i have been to have decent folks that are there to help you.Go here to get your bank on ✌️💲

I went in for a pre-approval loan for a vehicle. During this appointment ans upon doing a credit check, she was able to get me a consolidation loan for two loan places in my name whose interest rates were above 50% and save me over 1700 with their lower and shorter term loan. By paying these loans, my credit score goes up. I was so appreciative of her time and help..I never knew I could do that. Verve has helped me get through so many things. I recommend to anyone for any type of loan.

Had someone jack my email and then get into my account and change contact info to open additional accounts and attempt to transfer funds. The fraud department was on top of it and froze everything before they could steal anything. Phenomenal job by everyone involved.
I’ve banked at multiple different banks, all with different owners, different operations. different everything. I’ve never experienced an environment like the one at verve, on Johnson st in Fond Du Lac. The management is very professional and informative. The drive through employees treat everyone like a priority, and every other employee there makes you feel important, and almost like family. Which I personally believe is an amazing quality to this bank and just one of the many reasons I choose to bank there. Every person in this store deserve recognition for the efforts they put forward to make your banking experience great. I highly recommend this branch, and this location!

I really liked this bank before it turned to Verve. Since their new app update, they now include pending transactions and will show what your available balance is. I had 2 overdraft fees because of a pending transaction that was on hold to come out the next day that I got paid. I have NEVER had that before and even though the person reversed the fee, she tried to tell me to have enough in my account. I had enough the prior day..Transactions weren't to pull until the next day. If I get overdraft fees for future hold transactions because of your new system update, then I will have to move my account else where. I heard Chase Bank will pay you 100 to open up a new account with them. I get paid every Friday and since this pandemic, I've been living paycheck to paycheck. I can't be having 32 dollar overdraft fees when my account is technically not even in negative yet. Since Verve, I've had so many issues already and people have been ruder and not as personal as previous workers. The condescending replies from some of the females especially. The reason they have any stars now, is because their rates are competitive than other banks and will help with personal loans when you are in a bind but last time I asked for a loan it took 3-4 weeks just to go through and I had to contact them to find out what was going on. I was able to get a loan somewhere else same day. Definitely miss the old branch on Packer in Oshkosh. The old staff were amazing.

One phone call to discuss financial matters about my first boat, I have fished all of my life. I'm 66 years old and never owned a boat never had the resources to do so. Typically I've been very satisfied with the service at Verve. This last visit was not typical...called to get an appt. for opening a different account for my son. Got confirmation email that it had been scheduled. My schedule changed, so I called back to get an earlier appt. My appt. wasn't in the system. Apparently it got straightened out, as I got a call back stating the arrival time. Arrived at the new time at the branch only to be told that no, we do not have an appt. Thankfully Ashley took us in anyway and took care of us.

Everything is usually always good. I think the employees should try to listen a little better to what the customers want because they messed up taking money out from my account instead of taking money from a check I cashed. It was frustrating! Other than that, they are always amazing at everything! 😊

Very easy and straight forward loan process. When I needed to call to check on my loan the teller was very knowledgeable and the phone call only took 5 minutes to get everything figured out! Very impressed with the customer service. Also great rates!

The employees are always very friendly and helpful. My biggest gripes are that I'm NOT a fan of their online banking format/system as well as the early closing time on Thursdays (even before covid hours).

They have the nicest customer service there. I walked in today because I was short of some photocopies for my passport application next door at the post office. Even though I don't have an account at this bank, the nice ladies there immediately helped me to make copies for free and they were so kind and understanding.

Very friendly service. Was a Community Credut Union, then Verve bought it out, but kept all the staff. Then, Verve sold it back to Community Credit. After a few months, they decided it was best to have Verve run it. The staff are who I’ve grown up with. Very good at their jobs, and helped my step by step on new things like loans, and overdrawn percentiles.

I have been with Verve for two years. Not only did they approve a loan for me when I had less than desirable credit, they gave me opportunities that others wouldn't. I have had great experiences with the customer service on regular occasions and superb handling of fraudulent transactions on my account. I highly recommend Verve.
