Everyone loves a little friendly competition, including the students of Fond du Lac High School. The Cardinals girls’ volleyball team and boys’ soccer team competed in a car wash dual at our CitizensFirst branch on East Johnson Street for the third year in a row. And they had a great time!

When the teams first came to us with this idea, we had no idea how well it be received. Each year the number of cars that these teams attract for the car washes increases. To make it a little more interesting, we make this a competition for the students. Each team tries to get the most cars washed and make the most in donations by messaging their friends and family about the event. The girls’ volleyball team even makes signs and hangs out on Johnson Street promoting the event to the passersby while throwing around volleyballs.

This year, the boys’ soccer team washed 50 cars and raised $350 for their team. The boys even washed our cuBe (credit union BIG experience) truck, which was a really hard task, so we gave them an extra donation for taking that on. But, the girls’ volleyball team dominated this event once again by washing 85 cars and bringing in $700. Great job to everyone involved!

Please check out the video we made from a previous year’s competition.  If your school would like to do a fundraiser like this with us, please contact us at 236-7040.
